Yet when everything accelerates, people do not necessarily become freer. New tools can produce new expectations, denser schedules, and a task list that never ends.\n\nAI should not simply help us carry more work. It should absorb repetition, clarify complexity, and return scarce attention to judgment, relationships, and creation.\n\n## From efficiency to a better life\n\nThe useful questions are not only about what AI can do for us:\n\n- Does it remove meaningless repetition?\n- Does it help us form better judgment?\n- Does it leave room to connect with other people?\n- Does it give ordinary people capabilities they could not previously access?\n\nIf technology only makes us run faster after technology, it has missed its promise. Good AI products should reduce friction in life, not create a new form of obedience.\n\n## A gentler idea of progress\n\nEidos Lab looks for the places where AI can genuinely improve how people work and live. Automation should release agency. Knowledge systems should support thought. Agents should amplify human intent rather than decide what is worth pursuing.\n\nOur measure is simple: after technology advances, people should have more time, more ability to act, and more desire to live well with others."},{"locale":"en","type":"projects","slug":"eidos-lab-site","title":"The Eidos Lab site system","summary":"A bilingual research publishing system designed for people and agents at the same time.","category":"Experiment","date":"2026-09-06","status":"In progress","url":"https://eidoslab.cn/en/projects/eidos-lab-site","markdown_url":"https://eidoslab.cn/api/v1/raw/en/projects/eidos-lab-site","content_markdown":"Eidos Lab's first public experiment is the site itself: a place designed to be read by people and retrieved clearly by agents.\n\n## The question\n\nMost personal websites are built only for visitors in a browser. Knowledge is now increasingly discovered through readers, automated workflows, and agents. The same body of work should travel naturally across all of them.\n\n## The current system\n\n- Independent Chinese and English pages\n- An editorial reading experience for people\n- RSS, JSON Feed, and an open content interface\n- `llms.txt`, a sitemap, and raw Markdown\n- Open subscription without accounts or email collection\n\nThis is not a technical showcase. Type a question, wait for an answer: this still follows the old pattern of search and question-answer tools.\n\nThe deeper change is that AI can now take part in a complete piece of work. It can understand a goal, use tools, inspect intermediate results, and preserve a successful process as a reusable method.\n\n## From prompts to workflows\n\nA prompt solves one expression problem. A Skill preserves a way of working. An Agent allows that method to keep operating in a real environment. These are not merely new labels; they describe a change in how humans use tools.\n\nLearning AI therefore cannot stop at buttons and commands. We need to understand how work is decomposed, how information is verified, which judgments remain human, and how a failed process finds its way back.\n\n## Leverage belongs to people with judgment\n\nAI amplifies speed, but it also amplifies unclear goals. The more clearly a person can define the problem and recognize quality, the more useful this leverage becomes.\n\nIn the agent era, the scarce capabilities are not collections of instructions. They are problem awareness, structural thinking, and judgment in action."},{"locale":"zh","type":"journal","slug":"ai-is-human-leverage","title":"AI },{"locale":"en","type":"journal","slug":"why-eidos","title":"Eidos: from the essence of things to a human future with AI","summary":"Eidos means form and essence. A lab represents a continuous way of working: begin with a question, put an idea into real work, then correct it through products, Skills, writing, and use.\n\nThis place will document successful methods and unfinished judgments alike.
